Tuition and Fees

Tuition at UW–Madison covers the cost of your course(s), administration, and so on. Segregated fees are charges, in addition to tuition, assessed to all students (except Guest auditors and some online students) for student services, activities, programs, and facilities that support the mission of UW–Madison. The resources here will help you navigate the costs of attending UW–Madison and how to pay your tuition. Note, most University Special students are not eligible for financial aid.

You are obligated to pay tuition and fees for any class in which you enroll unless you drop the class before the 100% tuition refund deadline.

Terms and conditions for enrollment/Credit agreement
All students must sign this agreement each term prior to enrolling. Following the steps in your Student Center to-do list to complete this required task and lift your enrollment hold.

Official document fee
This is a one-time fee charged the first time you enroll at UW–Madison. It covers the cost of official documents you may need to request including official transcripts.
