Career Planning During the Pandemic

Keep active with your career plans

Do-it-yourself career planning steps Use the ACSSS career planning process to help you determine your future career plans.

Informational interviewing Yes, you can do informational interviews remotely! People may find themselves with a bit more time or flexibility in their schedules so don’t hesitate to reach out.

Networking Just because we are all practicing social distancing, doesn’t mean you can’t network! Reach out to your current network, develop new contacts, and touch base with someone you haven’t been in touch with for a while.

Use LinkedIn If you don’t have a profile, this is a great time to develop one. If you have one, now’s the time to update it.

Education options See all the options for continuing your education at UW-Madison including our new online undergraduate degree completion program, professional degrees and certificates, and taking courses as a University Special student.

Self-Directed Search (SDS) The SDS is a career interest inventory offered by Psychological Assessment Resources (PAR) and typically has a fee. For a limited time PAR is offering it for free due to the pandemic.
